Colton Boomer’s Record-Matching Performance Earns Him Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week

In an electrifying performance against Boise State, Colton Boomer, the starting placekicker for the UCF Knights, has been named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week.

Boomer’s performance involved a game-winning 40-yard field goal, executed as the clock hit zero. Boomer converted all four of the field goals he attempted —matching a longstanding UCF program record.

Boomer also hit two field goals, one from 50 yards and another from 55 yards away, the latter marking the longest of his career, making Boomer the second player in UCF history to convert on two field goals from 50 yards during the same game and the first to do it at the FBS level.

The accolade marks the first time a UCF student-athlete has garnered a Big 12 Weekly Award since the Knights’ inaugural season in the conference.

The Knights are back in action this coming weekend at FBC Mortgage Stadium, where they’ll host the Villanova Wildcats.
